The Prospect Group NY Sponsors Pro Day Designed to Provide Career Development Skills for Women’s Professional Lacrosse League Players The recently formed Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) is a professional lacrosse league that not only gives elite post-collegiate players a space to play, but also helps their players pursue careers outside of the sports world. With help from The Prospect Group NY, on Tuesday, December 5th, the WPLL will hold their first ever Pro Day ...in New York Citya day-long workshop designed to help six of their professional players develop skills and connections that will help land their dream jobs. The Prospect Group NY has a history of supporting female athletes as they pursue careers after sports, explained WPLL Founder and CEO Michele DeJuliis. We are thrilled to have them as sponsors for our Pro Day event. Together we feel that we can really engage our players and help connect them with their dream careers. It is no secret that female athletes have what it takes to succeed in the workplace. A 2015 study by EY and ESPNW concluded that 94% of women in the C-suite grew up playing sports and 53% of women in the C-Suite played sports at the collegiate level compared to just 39% of their male co-workers. Together, The Prospect Group NY hopes to help these Women’s Professional Lacrosse League players harness their potential and prepare them for jobs that will come after their playing career ends. The Pro Day, which will include personal branding training, resume review, and a career networking event, will help these young professionals explore the possible career paths they can pursue when their playing days are over. Players in attendance include Alex Aust, Taylor Cummings, Dana Dobbie, Kailah Kempney, Kara Mupo, and Holly Reilly. The Prospect Group is very excited to engage with the WPLL in their inaugural Pro Day launch and looks forward to working with their members on realizing their career objectives explained Prospect Group NY founding partner Caroline Samsen, who competed as a collegiate gymnast herself. The WPLL will play its inaugural season in the summer of 2018, and will role out a youth development program designed to introduce the next generation of lacrosse players to leadership development courses in the spring.
