Renderings of PS 47Q, replacing the existing school in Broad Channel, Queens. Upon completion in September 2022 this PS/IS school will accommodate approximately 290 students from pre-k through 8th grade. Construction to start Summer 2020.

In 2017 Mayor de Blasio announced the Universal Physical Education (PE) Initiative, providing all schools with a designated PE space by 2021. Fast-forward two years, and the first new standalone gym has been completed for PS 18K in Brooklyn, NY.
