We wanted to take a moment and introduce you to our Behavioral Health Consultant, Kristin Montini. Kristin is a licensed social worker who has been assisting our providers with the mental and behavioral health needs of our patients and families. We know that with all of the abrupt changes in our lives since COVID-19 including social distancing, mask wearing, and the early closing of school, it has been a very difficult time for families.... Kristin can be a wonderful resource for our patients and families who may be struggling with any of these current changes. She can see families for regular check-ins, provide coping skills education, parent coaching, and also assist families in finding a local long term counselor. Kristin is an invaluable asset to our care team. If you are interested in this additional support, please call our office at 845-279-9652 and ask to schedule a telehealth appointment with Kristin. She is available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9am to 5pm. And as always, if you have any questions either physical or mental health related, call our office and we will be happy to answer them!
We are excited to announce that starting December 1st, Dr. Martha M. Pimentel will be joining Putnam Pediatrics! Dr. Pimentel comes to our team from right down the road at the previous Mahopac Pediatrics location. She has cared for kids in Putnam County for many years. We are so lucky to have her and can't wait for you to meet her if you haven't already! To learn more about Dr. Pimentel, visit: www.childrenshospital.org/dire/physicians/p/martha-pimentel
Putnam Pediatrics now offers COVID-19 testing. Give the office a call to learn more or if you feel your child needs to be tested.
Getting the flu shot is more important than ever this year. The flu shot is highly effective in preventing serious flu illness, flu-related hospitalization, and flu-related deaths.
If your child shows symptoms of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Dr. Alanna Levine of Boston Children’s Health Physicians recommends calling your pediatrician to see... if you can continue treating your child at home or if they need to seek further care. The good news is that many children who are healthy won’t have any serious effects so it’s important to stay calm. She also offers tips to keep your family healthy and prevent the virus spread.
