Pleasant Valley Fire Department Rescue Squad 12.11.2020

Last night while attending a couple of meetings at pleasant valley town hall a bird's nest inside an outside light caught fire. It would appear the fire smolder...ed in the wall and filled the clerk's office with smoke. Fortunately we had professional firemen at the meeting and knew exactly what to do. 911 was called and the most amazing people on Earth arrived on the scene. Our Pleasant Valley Fire Department quickly came to the rescue!!!! Salt point, Arlington, sheriff's department, state troopers, EMS, every one was there in less then 2 minutes. What impressed me the most was not so much the speed in which they got there, but the efficiency in their actions once on the scene. The first ladder to arrive appeared to take charge. As the other departments began to arrive they recognized what needed to be done seamlessly! With all the lights and horns and sirens I was unable to see or hear orders as to what to do. They all knew! And they all knew it well. Before the ladders got to the scene we were instructed by the firemen that were already there to get our cars out of the lot. We did immediately. I pulled my car across the street and out of the way. I walked back to the sidewalk out of everyone's way to watch the professionals in action. They placed each truck in position and had the town hall surrounded just in case the fire was bigger then it really was. They took nothing for granted. This fire was a small bird's nest that could have burned our town hall to the ground. Thanks to the quick decisions by the gentleman on the scene, and the men and women of p.v. fire department, as well as all the other departments, it was just a bird's nest fire. Ladies a gentleman of pleasant valley I am extremely proud to say you have the best fire department anywhere! In less then 5 months they have saved 2 extremely important buildings in our town. The library and now town hall. To everyone who acted last night, Great job! Thank You!
