Qmetis

The Los Angeles metropolitan area is home to 5 of the highest ranked hospitals in the entire U.S. and UC Irvine here in Orange County is one of those, grading as the 10th best hospital in all of California and one of the best nationally dating back to the mid 1990s. UCI Health has also received the highest grades possible from the Washington D.C.-based Leap Frog Group for 10 consecutive years. And found right here on the UCI Medical Center campus is the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, with one of the largest early-phase clinical research programs in the U.S., supporting its first-class work in prevention, diagnostics and treatment.

In a state known in part for such high quality healthcare, many of North Carolina’s almost 150 hospitals are continually ranked among the top by U.S. News and World Report and Qmetis was fortunate to be with two of those this week; Novant Health Presbyterian here in Charlotte and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Being here, and meeting with these hospitals’ trauma, nursing and neurosurgical teams, makes those rankings obvious.

As the week begins here in Denver, Qmetis looks forward to important conversations around population health and how better coordinated care management, driven by new technologies, especially in adult and pediatric trauma, stroke, spinal cord injury and youth concussion, can produce measurably better long-term outcomes. Qmetis is grateful for the time with the Colorado Brain Injury Association, the Colorado Hospital Association and here in this picturesque Capitol building, Senate and House members focused on these issues as well.
