Our annual outdoor art installation "Hearts as One" will be revealed this Friday at 5PM! Artist Jaena Kwon will interpret the feelings and emotions associated with the holiday season and transform them into a lively sculptural piece. While most of Kwon’s pieces are painted one bold color, the new sculpture has a dark blue interior, while the exterior is painted a traditional deep red. The opposing colors connect to the idea of co-existence and unity rather than division, and the belief that even with different opinions, groups of people can exist harmoniously together.

It's Giving Tuesday! For 13 consecutive years, we give back to the community with an art installation for the holiday season. This year, "Hearts as One" by Korean artist Jaena Kwon is a symbol of hope for the community. Flushing is unique with its own distinct identity an enclave of immigrants and dreamers who came in search of the American dream. Kwon’s sculpture, and ideas of peace, unity, warmth and aspiration, comes from a deep appreciation for the Flushing community at large. Stay tuned for our lighting ceremony this Friday at 5PM!
