One of my favorite cameras to use is the Sony PMW 350 which is the lowest light full HD camera. This camera is perfect for events. If your eye can see it, the camera can too! An entire event can be shot with with this single camera, or with added support from additional talents using more conventional skills. For those who want an ultra edited type result, a variety of cameras can be mixed for different benefits!

iPad photography is a growing trend, even at events! I do not think it is a good idea due to ergonomics, and how one is forced to either abandon settings control or be distracted by tedious virtual controls. However, I am very excited about the video capabilities in some Android Smartphones, and have actually shot video of an event with it. For those wishing the most unobtrusive approach, this can be incredible: My eye and experience in a tiny footprint!

On being asked: Is it easier to capture a compelling photograph of people and their emotions, or an environmental photograph? (landscapes, night skies, etc) It is easiest to say another person's job is easy. Doing something well, however, is never easy. While an experienced artistic pro can make it look easy, each has its challenges. The great Ansel Adams wrote that one year, instead of traveling the world, he stayed on location all summer to photograph interesting things he came upon. He made it halfway through his back yard.

I was recently asked: "Are you opposed to photographs of human emotion getting touched up so blatantly, rather than capturing a better natural shot? Does touching it up make the photo lose some value?" Read my answer and share your thoughts: http://blog.rabenko.com/question_of_photography_and_retouc/
