Had a bit of a rough time in Court this week when I took for granted that I would have gotten a warrant vacated. Despite it being a voluntary return on a warrant, since my Client had warranted twice before, the Judge wasn't having it. When he threatened to not vacate the warrant but to also throw my Client in jail I almost went into a conniption. So unexpected, because my experience at vacating warrants had always been pretty easy. I had to go into full lawyer mode and argue ...vehemently on behalf of my Client. I swear I saw the Judge roll his eyes . Anyway, all is well that ends well; the Judge even though obviously annoyed with both me and my Client agreed to vacate the warrant and give my guy one more chance, or as the Judge put it "a FINAL chance". Whew!!! It was the longest 5 minutes of my week...Glad it worked out though but my Client better not warrant again because no doubt there will not be another chance, there is so much that the lawyer can do to keep you out of jail and no more.
