Can we have a moment of real talk here? One of the saddest stresses that I see couples weigh themselves with is worrying about what their guests will think. It’s great to mindful of making your guests comfortable but their preferences and style should not be the guiding influence in the decisions that you make. Your wedding day should be an expression of your story, your tastes, and your dreams not the essence of current trends. We’ve been a little soul care hiatus from social media/news/noise and it’s been a very nice little break to reset for the new year. We are feeling our way into operations for this year so that we can serve best where it’s needed. A 2020 takeaway for me was the necessity of isolating your three absolute top priorities (things that are most within your control) for the wedding. This allows you to pivot and replan when your plans are no longer in your control while holding onto what is most important to you. One of my absolute favorite joys in being a wedding planner is when I see my couples take a moment reflect on the fact that they making a sacred commitment. I think that amidst all of the details and formalities sometimes we can forget that marriage is so much more than a cultural event to check off. This is the time of year when I find myself reflecting on gratitude and the aspects of life that bring joy. This year is no different. I'm grateful for the resilience of my 2020 couples, the priority that they put on their marriages and moving forward with life despite uncertainty.
