Panelist Spotlight: Richard is the Deputy Executive Director at the Metropolitan Center forResearch on Equity and the Transformation of Schools at New York University (Metro Center), where he provides support and strategic assistance to Metro Center’s community organizing/engagement and school transformation programs. Richard is also a Lecturer at Law at Columbia Law School, helping students apply their legal training to advance authentic collaboration between educational in...stitutions and communities. Before joining the Metro Center, Richard directed the Community Organizing and Engagement at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University and Annenberg’s Center for Education Organizing at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform and before Annenberg, was the Director of National Technical Assistance at New York University’s Institute for Education and Social Policy and the Co-Executive Director of the National Coalition of Advocates for Students, a nationwide network of child advocacy organizations that work to improve the access of quality public education to student populations who have traditionally been underserved by public schools. Richard has a B.A. in History from Brown University and J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. See more

Panelist Spotlight: David Elcott is the Taub Professor Practice in Public Service and Leadership at NYU Wagner and is faculty director of the Advocacy and Political Action specialization. He received his doctorate from Columbia University in Political Science. Dr. Elcott's most recent book, Faith, Nationalism and the Future of Liberal Democracy will soon be published by Notre Dame Press.

Panelist Spotlight: Noelle Damico is the Director of Social Justice at the Workers Circle, a secular Jewish social justice organization and center for Yiddish culture. She has worked alongside the Coalition of Immokalee Workers for nearly 20 years organizing institutional and grassroots involvement in the CIW’s Campaign for Fair Food and serves on the board of the Fair Food Standards Council that monitors the CIW's internationally-recognized Fair Food Program, that has dramat...ically advanced human rights for farmworkers. An adjunct professor teaching organizing and political advocacy at NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, she has an extensive background in local, state and national public policy advocacy. A Senior Fellow at Partners for Dignity and Rights, she is a noted speaker on human rights, forced labor, and corporate accountability, including keynotes at the OSCE and US Department of Justice’s National Human Trafficking Conference. Noelle holds a B.A. with high honors from Swarthmore College as well as a M.Div. and Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary. An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, she resides in White Plains, NY with her husband Jeffrey Geary and son August Xavier. See more
