Great trip for Ron Hughes, who caught his personal best yesterday! Capt. Bob says the fight was 'awesome', and mate Joe reports 'releasing multiple 30lbers'. Give us a call to book your trip!
Shark fishing is red hot and the tuna continue to creep in shore creating for a great opportunity to come out and enjoy a day offshore. We have a few openings available in the next couple weeks you can call Captain Bob at 631-445-7088 or Captain Craig at 631-782-0122 to book your adventure today!
Congratulations to Captain Bob and the crew of the Rainbow on their 1st place finish in the Niantic Shark Week Tournament! Angler Ron Hughes and the crew battled a 433# Thresher shark for 3 hours before ending the great fight. The crew is looking forward to Star Island in a few weeks!
On Sunday we had Bill D. and George with their guests from Spain, the brothers Joseph and Geordie. Hit Montauk to try and get some nice sized bass, but the boat traffic was heavy and the bite was pretty slow. We picked one nice one and had two other bass bites that didn't come tight. So we changed gears and worked our way back up North, bottom fishing as we went. We had a great day with non-stop action with scup, a few fluke, and a full boat limit of beautiful sea bass. What better way to beat the heat than a beautiful day on the water!
Late report from Sunday's afternoon trip. Tough bite for James,Jeff, Joey, Brian, & Seth. 4 shorts/1 keeper trolling wire down the race on the flood. Couple more shorts and one nice bluefish on bucktails, and one keeper bass on eels. Fun trip with a great group of guys, but unfortunately the bite just never came together.
We had our mate Joey’s family out today with captain Craig to do a little shark fishing while they visited for his graduation. We landed our first keeper Mako of the year under the new size regulations. The faces say it all as we had an action-packed morning full of blue sharks, a keeper mako and even got to see a small great white! Feels good to be back to the dock by noon! Give us a call to book your offshore adventure this summer.
Today was an "all shapes, all sizes" trip. We were joined again by Nathan, Dr. Howard, and Joe for a 1/2 day. Strong East wind made for less than ideal conditions, but the guys worked hard for a mixed bag. Dropped two (bass?) on the troll, and also had a few short sea bass hit the decks. A good day with a really nice group of gentlemen!
Great fishing on Sunday with the Bill Davaris charter. The tide was ripping but they managed one keeper bass and a few shorts, and then switched over to fluke. Averaging 6-7 shorts a drift, they kept 8 nice fluke for the table. A fun trip with a great group of gentlemen.
Ducked out of the wind and caught some quality fluke on Thursday's trip. Nice fish around, but you have to work through the shorts for your keepers.
Long time customer and friend Ron Hughes and his sons Caden and Hunter joined us on Friday for a great day of mixed bag fishing. Ron described the bass bite as 'wide open' for about 1-1.5 hrs of the tide, and they wound up keeping two nice bass, a mess of scup, some fluke, and a few blues for the table. A fantastic day that the boys will add to their memories of great fishing trips with dad! Give us a call to get in on the great spring bite that gets better with each day!
A sampling of Saturday's catch for the Bouchard family. Great trip!
Great fishing on Monday for the Doug Pia charter. Iced a limit of bass to 25+ pounds along with some nice fluke. Great fishing on the North Fork right now!
