RAIN RITE INC. 01.07.2021

Just the few of the heads which we were required to change on this 11 year old system. Unfortunately the previous contractor, a landscaper without irrigation experience, did not know how to identify the many issues with sprinkler heads. Each of these heads (127 when the day was complete) were original to the system and all had major leaks. We estimated over 1000 gallons of water wasted every program cycle. The good news is that the property owners now see and understand the difference in hiring a professional. This system is now properly functioning. Can’t wait to set it to run for Spring in a few more weeks.

It’s almost Spring! We are excited for yet another great year. We would like to remind everyone that today is March 15. The current temperature is 25 degrees. This is not the time to be starting up your irrigation. We understand you may want to apply fertilizer, but it’s actually way too early for that as well. We anticipate start ups to begin in mid April, as they do every year. Please don’t let the few warm days fool you. We look forward to seeing you soon.

I have to take the time to give a shout out to our installation crew. They broke their backs on this renovation. Sadly the previous contractor installed this system (2 months prior to our renovation) completely incorrect. The soil was compacted and the system barely covered 60% of the property. After the initial seeding, and 2 hydroseed applications in 2 months with zero germination, we worked our magic. Great results like this are all we need. On to the next one! (Literally right next door)

Keeping it green!

End of season service. We preform the final inspections and make any necessary repairs now as that will reduce the likelihood of repairs in the Spring. Most companies will hold off on repairs until spring which may leave you loosing confidence in a winterizing service.

Today was a great day. For the first time in a while, we are starting to feel caught up and back to an operational standard that we can be proud of. Today’s job was for a wonderful family in West Islip whom unfortunately was taken advantage of by a big franchise business. They were sold a system which lacked the proper back flow protection, was installed with the incorrect pipe (too small of a diameter) and some of the cheapest material available. It’s a rare occasion, but we were granted permission to remove all of the poor quality material and move forward to renovate the existing work (like the poorly laid and exposed drip lines shown here) and properly install professional grade products to provide a great result. End result - a properly working system and happy clients! #thecomebackisgreaterthanthesetback

Heads up! Took over a few properties from a landscape contractor that let down a management company, billed out turn ons and never activated a single property. Their loss, our gain! #rainriteinc #lynbrook #nassaucounty #longisland #newyork #irrigation #repairs #service #livingthedream #2020

I would like to take a few minutes to address a few things whether it’s professional or not. As many of you are aware, we experienced something this year which destroyed the spring and sent a tidal wave of issues into our current times. For us, we closed our office permanently and lost a few key staff members. Lately we have been experiencing a higher than usual call volume due to record drought periods. Unfortunately, we live in the world of I want it now, give me it now.... Our phones will be going to a mailbox and it may take time to return a call. As much as it kills me to not be able to take and schedule every single call as they come in, I would hope people understand what’s going on currently. Another issue we are experiencing is with text messages. Please, and I stress PLEASE, call our land line. Our number can receive text but they will be call forwarded by Fios and we have no idea who is sending them as the voice recording just reads a number back 1 time. Lately the messages state, I don’t know why I haven’t heard from you but I will call someone else. First off, it’s a slap in the face to know you would take the time to call another company and never once call us. Second, you have not heard from us because this year hit us harder than Mike Tyson would have and 10/10 times I’m in a hole Covered in mud when you call. In order to keep from losing all of the work we have, I myself, as the owner, have been in the field from 6:30am to 9pm, 7 days a week, working non stop, and trying to get back early enough to return calls. I’m sorry that doing my best does not accommodate your demands. My entire staff is working around the clock through this heat wave and through the pandemic to help everyone we can. If you can’t respect that and find it necessary to have an attitude, I am asking you to go somewhere else, because I don’t want to pour my heart, soul, and energy into doing the right thing for you.
