Update on yesterday's post. Please see the notice below from the New York State Dental Association which echoes a statement from the American Dental Association made Monday March 16th. My Team and My family of patients matter to me very very much, and we as an office have been following these recommendations since before they were released on Monday night. ... It will be a terrible inconvenience to all of our patients but we will be reaching out over the next day or two to reschedule appointments. We will be back up and running as soon as we feel it is safe to do so. Our goal is to resume normal hours Monday April 13th. We will be here for you when this is over!!! In the meantime I will be available on call to treat any genuine dental emergencies for my patients. Please call the office voicemail if you need us. Please everyone stay healthy and stay safe! Dr Mike Costa and Staff _________________________________________ "The COVID-19 situation in New York is one of the most serious in the nation so far. As the facts and situation around COVID-19 continue to evolve, and they do change on an almost daily basis, in step with Governor Cuomo’s recent Declaration of a State of Emergency, your NYSDA Board of Trustees is issuing the following guidance for dentists in New York. The Board notes that this guidance is not a mandate and cannot compel any dental office to take action, but is intended to help dental offices make sensible and safe decisions for the benefits of the public. . At this time, it is recommended that dental offices provide only emergency dental care for patients. Elective and non-emergent services should be postponed for a minimum of three weeks. That policy shall be revisited at that time to accomodate further developments regarding COVID-19 and further actions/recommendations from government agencies. This is not guidance we are issuing lightly, and it is being done out of an abundance of caution during these turbulent times. As healthcare professionals, we all have a role to play in slowing the spread of the coronavirus and flattening the curve in order to follow sound scientific, public health advice, to help limit infections and slow the spread of the virus. The spread of COVID-19 will be determined by our collective actions now. We believe by taking these extraordinary precautions, dentists can make a difference in helping to preserve the limited supply of personal protection equipment critical for emergency dental care and frontline healthcare personnel responding to the pandemic."

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well! Due to the evolving situation with the local spread of COVID-19, I have decided to postpone any scheduled elective dental treatment in the office for the next week. This is purely a precautionary measure and one I hope will be only necessary over the very short term. My staff will be in contact today and over the next few days as we know more. We will do our best to be back up and running our normal hours as soon as we can. ... I know this a terrible inconvenience but based on the most current information available, I believe this is the best way to keep my patients and my team safe. I will be available to treat any dental emergencies for any of our patients. Please call the office and leave a message or reach out to me on my cell at (917) 589-8832 in the event of an emergency. You can also email us at [email protected] or post/message here. We will be monitoring the voicemail and email and get back to as soon as possible. Everyone stay safe! Thank you for your understanding and your continued confidence in me and my team!!! Dr Mike Costa

Every year Jen and I contribute to Judge Bob Gigante's Holiday Teddy Bear Drive. He's been doing it for years and they get distributed to children through local charities. This year my staff and I are going to have a collection in the office. We're hoping you'd like to participate and join in on the fun. Bring a NEW bear with you to your next visit or just drop one off while you're passing by. I'll make sure they get to where they need to be.... You can drop off until December 19th. Thanks for joining us. This will be fun! Bring us a bear!!!!
