Look at all of those apples! Can you imagine how many gallons of cider were made here over the years?

The more we learn about the mill property, the more we realize how unique and special this place truly is. We had the pleasure of meeting Carol Dietz Gambel today when she visited with her son Paul Gambel. Both of them have shared so many great family stories and photos with us. It would have been impossible for us to piece everything back together without their help. This first picture was taken when Carol was just a young girl. She is standing in front of the Quonset hut ...when her father Oliver Dietz opened it up as a farm supply store. He later sold John Deere tractors from this store. We have a lot of chestnuts this year!

The 100 year old platform scale is working again! Our neighbor Doug Payne from Gunboat Outfitters and his sons Brian and Steve serviced the scale today. Early on in Doug's career, he worked on these scales which were made in Buffalo. We appreciate the time they took to help us today and are so grateful to have Doug as part of our community.
