SPECIAL RESEARCH WRITING COURSE AVAILABLE !! Intro to Research Studies: COVID-19 (VIRTUAL CLASS) Hope everyone is doing safe and well. At thing point, it's hard to predict how our summer will be. Many universities and other officials sites have already announced all summer programs to be online, greatly limiting activities for students. What is the best we can do in this situation? Instead of avoiding, let's DIG DEEPER.... 192 Reading Town Flushing Campus is hosting a special VIRTUAL course this summer, Introduction to Research Studies: COVID-19. This program is offered to 2 different groups : 1) Special Research Writing Project for upcoming 7-12th graders, introducing them to the ways of research studies. 2) Junior Research Writing Class for upcoming 4-6th graders, introducing them to the world of scientific research, a rare opportunity at this grade level Tentative Schedule: June 1 ~ Aug 22 Once a week(1.5hr- 2hr) Friday afternoon and/or Saturday morning Purpose: conduct non-experimental research concerning COVID-19 (collecting and reinterpreting data without actual experimenting) work with an assigned mentor to guide through the process learn the official method of collecting and analyzing data study the structure of research papers practice citing in APA/MLA format Advantages: have a safe yet productive activity down during this quarantine and continue it throughout the summer add another eye-catching extracurricular prepare for research courses required in college submit a research supplement, writing sample, and/or abstract to enhance college applications practice how to support claims with verified evidence, a useful skill for standardized tests acquire a new style of writing differing from literary writing styles learned at school build confidence, knowledge, and interests exploring a new field FOR MORE INFORMATION CALL US NOW AT 718-445-6500

We won 1st place team & speaker in the Elementary Division and in the Middle School Division we won 6th place in the team and more! We are so proud of our Debaters as well as all other Reading Town Debaters who did their best in supporting their teams.
