Set up matters! Anyone who’s worked with a really solid coach knows that sometimes the slightest modifications in the way you’re performing an exercise can make a huge difference in the way you feel what you’re supposed to be feeling. My most recent example would be Cable Pull Throughs. Yesterday I implemented a simple tweak with hand positioning which my coach @marisainda had pointed out in a how to video she shared in my new program.... I used to let my hands go all the way behind me with the rope as I hinged and then come forward as I stood up. After tweaking my form by simply pressing my hands against my inner thighs and not letting the rope move behind me, I suddenly felt much greater activation and engagement in my glutes throughout the whole movement. Made a huge difference. I love these aha moments! Many people who exercise on the regular by themselves, but have never worked with a coach with solid comprehension of movement technique and exercise mechanics, miss out. They can go years not seeing the progress they could be making simply because no one has ever taught them simple how to tips. Correct set up and execution makes a huge difference in the way we perform our exercises and the way they work (or don’t). Our @real_fit_life members know that when they perform an exercise, if they aren’t feeling anything or it’s not feeling challenging, that they’re missing something. They know to ask right away. Usually we make a tweak, suddenly it feels really hard, and they say to me, I knew I was missing some thing. It was way too easy. #Fitness #Exercise #PersonalTraining #Technique #womenwholift #workout
