It has begun. IRS reports many attempts reported. Beware of Stimulus Payment Scams -Be alert for phone scams. ... The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Treasury Department, or any other government agency will not contact you by phone to collect information for stimulus payment processing. Period. -Be alert for phishing scams. Government agencies will not email or text you to collect information for stimulus payment processing. Watch for suspicious emails or texts with links or attachments requesting information for processing stimulus deposits or checks. If you receive one, do not click the link or open the attachment. It’s a scam. Delete it. -Be alert for state-related scams. State agencies will also not call, email or text you to collect information or a fee to process a stimulus payment. To date, no state has introduced their own version of a stimulus payment.

Just heard - The IRS should be able to send stimulus payments quickly to most or all people who file tax returns. It has been said that everyone is ELEGIBLE even if you haven’t filed. You just have to file a Federal Tax Return as soon as possible. If you don’t it has been said that they will base it on your 2018 tax return. ... You will be able to file a federal return even If you didn’t earn enough income to require filing a tax return. YOU COULD FILE A FEDERAL TAX RETURN (EVEN WITH ZERO INCOME) AT IRS.GOV. IF YOU ARE ON SOCIAL SECURITY OR VETERANS BENEFITS WORD IS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FILE A RETURN IN ORDER TO GET THE CHECK.

TODAY FROM IRS: -For those who don’t file taxes and don’t receive a government benefit payment (like Social Security, Veteran benefits, etc.) IRS has launched a New Web Page for Stimulus Payment (EIP) Registration. https://www.irs.gov/coro/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here... -IRS will launch another web page Get My Payment on April 17 to help everyone check on the status of their Stimulus payments. -Also IRS will allow eligible people through Get My Payment the ability to update their direct deposit information.

STIMULUS CHECK NEWS Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin just said on CBS’s Face The Nation that deposits should start to be made with in 3 weeks. Those with Direct Deposit info already registered with Federal Government will receive direct deposits. He said that for those who do not have direct deposit info with Fed Gov that US Treasury will soon put something up on a webpage for people to register your Direct Deposit info in order to receive check. ... If true (about the site) and when it’s announced I will put up the info.

Real Tax Service Regarding COVID-19 & Stimulus Check We Are Still Working It appears we may be exempt from mandatory shut down but instead have decided to observe the guidelines offered by NYS & CDC. Therefore we are not receiving clients at our office at this time. We urge everyone to also observe these guidelines.... But as we said we are currently still helping clients file tax returns. To those of you who already filed with us, Thank You. We really appreciate your business. We couldn’t continue with out your support. Those of you who have not yet filed we advise to do so as soon as possible. Yes, the tax deadline has moved to July 15th but you shouldn’t delay preparing your return. DID YOU KNOW THAT FOR MOST RECEIVING A STIMULUS CHECK WILL DEPEND ON FILING A FEDERAL TAX RETURN? If you are expecting a refund the sooner you file the sooner you’ll get it. If you are not expecting a refund, file now anyway. This way you will be compliant and be in line to receive a stimulus check. Either way you benefit from filing now. In order to save our clients time, for years now we’ve made it possible to receive your info and docs via text, email or fax. Then we finish via phone. This method is not new to us and due to this we now are able to continue serving clients smoothly without having to meet. We have also added options to video chat through FaceTime, Skype and Zoom. Today we solved another person’s back taxes issues. Person was very worried because had not filed returns in over 10 years. He was not sure what to expect or how much he would owe. Today we got word from IRS that he is up to date with his tax returns and is even getting a refund. We are in the final stages of resolving a few other cases. Stay tune. ... This person is so relieved now. He feel like he is starting a new life!!!
