This was a tragedy on many levels. Many still remember it vividly despite the fact that it happened back in 1988. The incident opened many eyes to the overwhelming dangers of fighting fires. It also changed the way numerous tasks and activities are done in the fire service and specifically on the fire ground. Our hearts remain heavy with the enormity of the losses. What did YOU do last night? Last night EMS members of the Red Hook Fire Company attended CME (Continuing Medical Education) training at Northern Dutchess Hospital for the topic of chest pain. EMS members go through a significant amount of advanced training to stay current with any changes and new techniques in caring for patients for a wide variety of situations. The Red Hook Fire Company is sending our heartfelt congratulations to the Red Hook graduating class of 2021. Your senior year was like no other. You faced obstacles and roadblocks no one could have imagined or thought of. And yet through it all you persevered and succeeded! Each one of you should be very proud of your accomplishments. We certainly are! A special shout out to graduates whose parent is a member of the Red Hook Fire Company: Anna Deckoff (daughter of John Decko...ff) is 18 years old. She was the Captain of the girls varsity tennis team and will be attending University of Miami where she intends to major in geography and journalism. Janie Richmond-Lauffer (daughter of John Lauffer) has participated in the Dutchess County BOCES PEACCE Program at the Red Hook high school and will be continuing her education at the Dutchess County Community College Think Ahead program this fall. #everalert #redhookproud #highfivestoallthegraduates
