Went on a solo trip yesterday morning. Great day on the water. As soon I broke the inlet there were striped bass all over the place. From Moriches to Fire Island Inlet. I had well over 25 fish of all sizes. I need to get better at photo documenting this stuff. #oldman The ocean was beautiful and I got to see the blue moon setting over the horizon. Got home to my family and didn't miss a beat. #familyiseverything Thanks @mike_leahy55 and @pelagic_outfitters for the super fast turn around on the reel repair and replacements.

Another great Montauk trip with my two boys. Our annual Columbus Day Boys trip was postponed due to heavy winds during the Columbus day weekend so we found a window and followed the plan. The boys @garrettlilienthal and @lilienthallogan caught fish from sun up to sundow and even a bunch more well past sunset. #squid We must have boated over 75 bass on Saturday before making the run over to block Island. The plan was to catch some quality sized sea bass until we saw some actio...n on the surface. We tripled up for over an hour with non stop gator blues on top water before heading over to @samsstarislandyc for dinner. Garrett got the biggest blue of 16lbs and Logan caught one big enough to get back on the jr angler leader board at @westlakemarina with a 13lb bruiser blue. With the heavy northeast winds today we decided to muscle through the rough stuff in Montauk and search our home base waters between Moriches and Fire island inlet. Today was not as productive as Saturday but Logan managed a few nice size bass on plugs and jig. As we ran from spot to spot to busy catching gidh to get good photos I was able to look in the cockpit and see two great fisherma in the making. I can't express how privileged I feel to spend this time with my boys and how proud I am of each of them. #proudfather Props to Bryce and crew @whitewateroutfitters for getting the gear ready To john and company @trophyfishingtackle for outfitting the boys with the best gear And @doubledmtk for taking the time to answer my calls. And to @mike_leahy55 from @pelagic_outfitters for hand delivering much needed apparel Also if you need place to dock out there call Chris, David or Tonya @westlakemarina For top notch service and marine store. While your there share a story and a smile with Joel. #bass #bluefish #gator #roughseas #proudpapa #family #familyfishing #theboys #montauk #saltwater #greatsouthbay #fireislandandbeyond @grundens @guycottenusa
