Remembering Golden Valley Sports Camp

Golden Valley owners and operators Soddy and Jeri Mirabito created a fun and entertaining sports camp for all kids to enjoy. Basketball, football, baseball and so much more. Jeri brought NBA players and NCAA college athletes to participate and talk with all the kids during their stay at Golden Valley. Their camp brought employment opportunities to local, young adults. A truly magnificent experience to all that were a part of this. We are remembering Golden Valley on this page... because it brought so much joy and learning experiences to kids of all ages. We would like to thank the Mirabito family for creating such a memorable experience of sports and recreation. Jeri and The Mirabito Family shared their camp with many of my classmates and me. Golden Valley was more than just a sports camp for me. I was a camper, a counselor, and a worker. So many great memories I can't begin to share them all. From meeting NBA players to working in the kitchen with good friends; even making some new friends during girls basketball camp :) one of my highlights while being a counselor during basketball camp was when the kids wanted me to play again...st Chris Mullen. I did play him, and of course I nailed a three pointer right off the bat. I'm not going share the final score, but that was just one of the many great moments I will never forget. I just want to take the opportunity to say thank you and I miss your camp very much. If only my children could have the opportunity to enjoy such a wonderful place. Clifford Stewart, I attended Golden Valley basketball camp 4 separate summers during high school. I still have the T-Shirts. I am now 32 years old and I wish I could go back and spend a week there next summer. The experiences and life long memories that my friends and teammates took from Golden Valley will never be forgotten and are still talked about 15 years later. Golden Valley was more than just basketball camp. It was an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and test your skills while having fun and learning what life is like on your own. I wish I could send my two sons there in the future. In closing, I would like to finish by sayingReady Ready Campers!!
