Renewed Treasures by Susan

I originally purchased this piece last year when I began my painting journey at an estate sale and we fell in love with it. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to paint it, as I love painting every piece I get, but this one I was torn. We finally decided to keep it and this past weekend my love sanded a lot of the water marks off the top and some of the old varnish also. We put some mineral oil on it and then gave it a lather of wise owl salve, it’s a keeper!!

Happy Snowy Tuesday! Another finished Renewed Treasure that will accent anyone room. Cleaned, sanded, and given a new top as It had some water damage once we stripped off the veneer. A custom color was created for the top using Country Chic Dark Roast and Liquorice. Antebellum Blue was put on the body followed by CC black wax to give it an aged look and to seal the body. Three coats of top coat were applied to the top to protect the finish.... SOLD This piece is fit for a Princess! This 1940's mahogany vanity I came across was in such solid condition I knew I had to have her. ... I throughly cleaned this piece with white lightning,(which i do with every piece before painting) gave her three coats of Boss and then painted with the color Vanilla Frosting from County Chic Paint. Three coats of clear coat were applied and then grey wax to the entire body, wiped it back enough to give it that aged look I was looking for. The hardware was painted in a hammered bronze to give them a fresh new look. The top was redone in the color Dark Roast by Country Chic Paint and three coats of Polycrylic were applied. The stool was also a Mahogany wood and was redone in the Vanilla Frosting and grey wax to match the vanity, Also new upholstery was put on to give it that final touch! . . #artisan #chalkpaintedfurniture #countrychicpaints #vanitytable

I finished up this elegant entry table this past week. I wasn’t sure about this piece when we went to purchase it, but once we brought it home and gave it a new look I fell in love with it. Cleaned, sanded and then painted in beautiful Country Chic Lazy Linen. I then painted the scroll on the top a soft green which was a mixture of two colors I had. I then put three coats of top coat on the top to protect the top and gave the entire piece a coat of Country Chic pearl wax whic...h gave it a beautiful little shimmer. Happy Saturday! Just refinished this 1940’s Waterfall dresser in Collard Green by Dixie Belle. Like all of my other pre loved pieces, this was cleaned and sanded well before any work was done. (Thanks for all the sanding babe) Three coats of poly sealed the Special Walnut stain that was applied to all of the refinished wood.
