Grafton Lakes State Park kicked off their 50th anniversary celebration today at the park visitors center. Steve McLaughlin - Rensselaer County Executive presented a proclamation to Park Manager, Melissa Miller, and Park Environmental Educator, Tamara Beal, in commemoration of the milestone event. They were joined by a large crowd at the luncheon, as well as Grafton Town Supervisor Ingrid Gundrum, along with Regional Director of the Saratoga - Capital Region, Alane Ball Chini...an. Stop up this evening for the presentation of an hour long video, which recaptures memorable moments at the park over the past 50 years, as well as interviews with many associated with the park since it's opening in 1971. Grafton Lakes State Park has always been a wonderful place to take your family for a great day of Rensselaer County fun. We encourage everyone to make your way up there this season to explore the well maintained trails, have a picnic, or simply lay on the beach and enjoy the pristine lake. This year they will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Berlin Free Town Library, with literary characters in costumes being featured in the parade.
