Ahoy Map Nerds! Did you know that the Berkshires are a critical wildlife corridor connecting the Hudson Highlands to the South and the Green Mountains to the... North? If you've ever wondered why you see so much wildlife here, this is a big part of it! This map is from the Staying Connected Initiative, a regional conservation project dedicated to conserving, restoring, and enhancing landscape connectivity in the Northeast. Read more about bears, Regional Conservation Partnerships (RCPs), wildlife corridors, and the many stakeholders involved in conservation in Christopher's June blog post from our newsletter. Inside those garbage bags you’ll find a whole bunch of Garlic Mustard! We had 2 excellent invasive species volunteer work days this past week and were able to remove some huge patches of the nasty stuff from portions of our preserves. Thank you to all who showed up and gave us some of your time! Stay tuned for more volunteer work days and other events.
