A brilliant & timely initiative from iFixit--for all of us. "iFixit is building a central resource for maintenance and repair of hospital equipment. We need hel...p from fixers everywhere, medical professionals, and biomedical technicians to make sure this is as robust, relevant, and useful as possible." If you have this know-how...here's how to get active. Sewing face masks is one thing--this is quite another. Please help spread the word!
There has been a lot of discussion about organizing a "virtual repair" event for our region--with our repair coaches--on a Zoom platform. Some of you saw the successful Repair Cafe TV event last week, organized by the folks in North Carolina. On Thursday at 2:30 ET there will be a webinar to hear how others around the world have been doing it. It is put on by the Restart Project in London (part of the repair movement in Europe). Here's the info. As always, please share this ...info with your volunteers. Thinking about running an online repair event? With in-person repair events currently on hold in most countries, lots of us have been looking for ways to keep our local communities connected and repairing online. But running repair events online isn’t necessarily straight-forward and it’s proven difficult for lots of us to know where to start. Join us on Thursday for a conversation with a handful of organizers who’ve already taken the leap and are now running online repair events. We’ll share experiences and lessons learned so far in order to help you decide whether online events can work for you and how to get started. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. https://talk.restarters.net/t/webinar-running-online-r/2798
Trying to find Karen Nieke who was at Saturday's Repair Cafe. She left part of her sewing machine and no information. Please reach out if you know her or have her get in touch. Thanks!

Our coaches and guests were so very busy yesterday. While not everything was fixable, they sure tried and all had fun, too! Thanks to all the volunteers and to those who didn't let their belongings wind up in the trash. WIN WIN In Pete Seeger's words... ... If it can’t be reduced, reused, repaired, rebuilt, refurbished, refinished, resold, recycled, or composted, then it should be restricted, redesigned or removed from production. We've got a lot to do for our envirnment, this is a small but important step.
