Fund the Fellowship! 1 Year of RHAP Fellowship x 6 RHAP Fellows = Expanded Access to Reproductive Health Care! ... Every new physician trained through our Reproductive Health Care and Advocacy Fellowship makes a direct impact on access to reproductive health care. Our fellows learn how to teach these skills to other clinicians, which means that when you donate, you’re not just enabling the education of six physicians, but dozens. Your donation expands access to reproductive health care, creating a ripple effect of positive change across the country. Any amount, be it $25, $50, $100, or more, gets us closer to our goal of $30,000. Our fellows and their patients need you! https://www.reproductiveaccess.org/donate/ See more

While abortion is still legal in all 50 states, access is severely limited for millions of people in this country, due in part to biased, discriminatory, medically unnecessary restrictions on abortion care and provision. The truth is that it doesn't matter for so many people whether or not abortion is "legal." If they’re unable to access abortion care, they often have to take matters into their own hands. We know that laws banning abortions don’t stop people from having them.... They do make accessing abortion more expensive, complicated, and time-consuming. They do delay access to care further into a pregnancy, resulting in more second and third trimester abortions. And they do disproportionately hurt those who already face barriers to accessing health care, including women, BIPOC, LGBTQI+ folks, young people, those living in rural communities, folks who are low-income, immigrants, and people with disabilities. June Medical Services v. Russo challenged a Louisiana law (Act 620) that would have prevented doctors from providing abortion services in the state unless they secured admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of where they provide abortion care. This law was designed to close clinics and undermine access to abortion. The Court’s decision in that case made clear that states cannot use deceptive medical regulations to shut down clinics.

"Now more than ever before, I am so proud to be part of RHAP. This year, RHAP has begun to more strongly and meaningfully stand and act in solidarity with communities of color in the face of ongoing state violence, reproductive injustices, and other systems of oppression long experienced by BIPOC. I am honored to be part of the efforts we are making to walk the walk and talk the talk when it comes to committing to becoming an anti-racist organization. We have a long way to go..., but this year we've started by putting forth organizational statements naming current issues of systematic racism and reproductive violence in our society and in our medical system, standing in solidarity with justice organizations that have long been calling attention to these issues. We've dedicated financial resources to engage in reflection and meaningful action to implement an anti-racist lens into our work. We are having frank and difficult conversations about how racism, white supremacy, and white fragility operate in our movement. And, we've begun examining and changing our programs, structures, and curricula to ensure that our clinician community begins to incorporate an anti-racist lens into their patient care, teaching, and advocacy." - Silpa Srinivasulu (she/her), Research and Evaluation Manager, RHAP #RHAPup2020 #reproductivehealth #reproaccess #primarycare

After taking the mifepristone and misoprostol pills, you can expect to experience several things that are totally normal. First, you can expect bleeding with clots and cramping. This usually starts 2-4 hours after taking misoprostol and heavy bleeding can last between 3-5 hours. Lighter bleeding can last between 1-2 weeks. Second, you can expect to feel nausea, diarrhea, or chills. These symptoms should only last a few hours. If the bleeding soaks through more than two pads in two hours, you have a fever over 101 degrees F, or you start to feel very ill, you should call your clinician right away. Politicians have weaponized the pandemic in order to claim that abortion isn’t essential healthcare, and their fight won’t end once the pandemic is over.

NO CONFIRMATION BEFORE INAUGURATION! It’s not too late to make our voice heard! Join National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) in calling our Senators today! Text NCJW to 747464 or call 1-888-678-9477 Here is the script you can use when you call: ... Hello, my name is [ x ] and I am calling from [city, state]. Given Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s opposition to the Affordable Care Act, her nomination to a lifetime seat on the US Supreme Court threatens Americans’ access to health care in the middle of the current global pandemic. I urge the Senate to instead focus on providing relief for millions of Americans who are still suffering, including the families and loved ones of the more than 220,000 people who have died, as well as the more than 30 million people who have lost their jobs. The Senate must follow Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s powerful example by putting the health and security of our nation and its people first and oppose the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to a lifetime seat on the Supreme Court. You take one pill called mifepristone and then about 24 hours later you take four pills called misoprostol. These medications will help the pregnancy pass. Some people like the idea of using medication (mifepristone + misoprostol) to treat an early pregnancy loss because it is safe, you can do it at home, and you can feel in control of the process. But, sometimes people might feel like the medication is taking too long. If that is the case, you can always reach out to your clinician to schedule a procedure which will remove the pregnancy tissue immediately. This is safe to do and won't impact your chances of getting or staying pregnant in the future. To learn more about options for treatment for early pregnancy loss, check out our fact sheet What Are My Choices for Early Pregnancy Loss (Miscarriage) Treatment? https://www.reproductiveaccess.org//miscarriage_treatment_
