June 14th, 2021, Hoyleton Youth and Family Services located in Southern, Illinois and celebrating its 125th anniversary in service to children and families, hosted a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and Spirituality Summit. Thirty Hoyleton staff from across the agency and were joined by Dr. Karla Scott, DEI consultant, Rev. Carol Shanks Spirituality consultant, Rev. The Summit was held in O’Fallon, Illinois and CEO Chris Cox described the event as a, watershed moment in the 125 years life of the organization. There is a genuine effort to incorporate CARE concepts at all levels of the organization and Hoyleton leaders see the CARE model as a means to deepen DEI & Spirituality in a way that is congruent with CARE principles.
