Our Toy give away on December 19th has been postponed until Wednesday December 23 from 12 - 4 p.m. Unfortunately our "Santa" in Owego is snowed in and will not be able to get the toys to us for this Saturday. Please pass along the word.... We will post signs on the doors as well. Our apologies for the delay
Stupid autocorrect my post should have said how thankful I am, not fearful!Stupid autocorrect my post should have said how thankful I am, not fearful!
Would like to welcome everyone back inside of the pantry. We are wearing face masks and making every attempt to keep patrons and volunteers safe. We have new meats in this week, fresh cantaloupes and tomatoes among other things on our menu. If you haven't been in to shop for a while, come say hello! We miss you.
Good News! We will soon be welcoming patrons back into the pantry!! June 25th will be the last drive through pantry. ... We will be reopening with safety precautions in place. We want you to continue to be as safe as possible, while attempting to return to some sense of normalcy. Remember to bring your own bags or boxes as you did in the past. We will no longer have access to as many boxes. We will be closed June 29 - July 4 th. So NO pantry on July 1st. We will be preparing for reopening that week. We will reopen on July 8 th. There will be a new process in place as follows: 1. Drive into the pantry as you currently do, entering from Stowell Ave (by bank). Form 2 lines of cars. 2. STAY IN YOUR CAR - a pantry volunteer will notify you when you may come into the pantry. Only 1 person may come in at a time, unless 2 different families are sharing a car. 3. FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED - maintain social distancing. 4. You will enter by the front door.* Registration will occur here. ( *See note below) 5. When you enter a volunteer will direct you, as layout has changed. 6. Make your selections in a timely manner. You will exit out the side door. (Door you used to enter). 7. Volunteer will assist you to put food in your car and return carts. Volunteer's will clean carts between usage. 8. Exit driveway via Water St. * Note: There are 2 steps down into pantry, if you are physically, medically, or feel unsafe in using stairs there are two options: A. A volunteer will escort you to side door and safely see you inside OR B. A list of available food will be provided so you can choose what food items you want and a volunteer will "shop" for you. ALSO the clothing area will be closed for a while yet. We will let you know when it is to reopen. Thank you for your patience and understanding for the last 3 months. It has been a strange and difficult time adjusting to the changes that the Covid pandemic has brought. I ask for a little more patience as we transition to this next phase. We are grateful to all of you for the many kind words and word of encouragement since this all began. We may not be able to see your actual smile but your smiling eyes have conveyed it. A virtual hug to all of you and bless all of you. Pat Walp, Director 607-220-6149 [email protected]
This Wed when you come to the pantry, try and remember to bring your boxes back. We could really use them. Thank you. Stay safe & healthy! Remember better to wear a mask, than a respirator!
