Rochester Genesee Valley Club supported and volunteered with Uniting and Healing Through Hope of Monroe County in their food and blanket drive. During this COVID era many families experienced a decrease in employment and outreach services. Food and blankets were two top issues required by social agencies, community outreach organizations and shelters. The initiative organized by Uniting and Healing Through Hope of Monroe County, founded by Clay Harris, provided 800 famili...es with food in November 2020. 2,000 blankets were collected from public donations of funds and new blankets. Beginning in December 2020, blankets were distributed to first responders, churches and shelters. A special focus was placed on seniors and the homeless through partnering with Rochester organizations serving these populations. Alicia Ward, 1st VP of the Rochester Genesee Valley Club led the charge with other club members to help coordinate the distribution of food and blankets as part of our program "Ellen Stubs Gifts At Christmas". When we come together and unite our resources we are able to meet the needs of our community. See more
