We are thrilled to announce the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for the 2021 Math Competition: 1st place, bringing home the $150 prize: Josiah Lockhart, Maryland School for the Deaf... 2nd place, receiving $100: Ty Collins, The Western Pennsylvania School For The Deaf 3rd place, winning $75: Fiona Keegan, Kendall Demonstration Elementary School - KDES A big congratulations to our winners, and hands waving to all our "mathletes" that participated!

NTID Youth Programs 21.05.2021

We’re excited to announce the winners of our first-ever Next Big Idea: High School Edition competition! Manyy thanks to Purple/ZVRS for their sponsorship and support for this event, especially the prizes for our competitors. Caleb Han of Knoxville, Tennessee, won the first-place prize of $3,000 for his idea: Cy-Sci, a cybersecurity simulation for kids. The program uses virtual simulations to teach kids how to protect themselves from cybersecurity threats they may experience... through online gaming platforms. Lucas Vaiden of Ardsley, New York, won the second-place prize of $2,000 for his idea: Little Signers, Co., a technology and education firm that specializes in teaching deaf and hard-of-hearing children and their families American Sign Language to end language deprivation and provide valuable knowledge and resources. Dannell Patton of Chicago, Illinois, won the third-place prize of $1,000 for her idea: Donnella Bella Collection, a wig and hair extension business, providing a variety of hair textures to fit every customers' needs and maintaining the texture, quality, bounce, shine and fullness of regular hair.

RIT/NTID's The Next Big Idea 2021 Winners.... The Next Big Idea is an annual entrepreneurial competition hosted by RIT/NTID for high school and college students, and sponsored by ZVRS and Purple Communications. The goal is for students to come up with a product, business, service, or technology idea that solves a problem or eliminates an existing challenge for potential consumers and/or users everywhere. RIT/NTID is thrilled to announce this year’s 2021 college competition w...inners, which featured some outstanding teams of students with creative ideas. First Place: Memorization Cooking The team of Ronald Soriano and Alnord Deski took first place with an innovative concept called Memorization Cooking, which involves using a smart pot or pan that lets people cook their favorite family recipes anywhere. The pot or pan records and keeps your favorite recipes on hand, so you never have to worry about forgetting the ingredients! Soriano is from Arlington, Texas, and is a fourth-year student pursuing a degree in the School of Individualized Study focused in Marketing and Communications. Alnord is from Bronx, New York, and is a second-year student studying Business Management. Second Place: Team Go Big Second place goes to Team Go Big, spearheaded by Jenai McKeen, Cashmere Pascual, and Deoraj Phatandian. Team Go Big’s idea was a hologram interpreternew- age technology that projects a hologram of an interpreter in settings where deaf and hard-of-hearing clients need communication access. McKeen and Pascual both are second-year Psychology majors from Pennsylvania and Albuquerque, New Mexico, respectively. Phatandian is from Queens, New York, and is a first-year Civil Engineering student. Third Place: Sensory Beacon The third-place winning team was Sensory Beacon, another trio team with Dylan Mahoney, Michael Williams Jr., and Miles Gonzalez. Sensory Beacon is a hub for business-to-business and business-to-consumer mixed marketing to provide accurate accessibility options for entertainment. Their goal is to provide a matchmaker service to a company that seeks to make their own brand easily accessible by creating the best interactive experience for customers. Mahoney is a first-year Management Information Systems major from Pacific Grove, California. Williams and Gonzalez are both first-year Business Administration students from Baltimore, Maryland, and the Bay Area in California, respectively. CONGRATULATIONS to the winners!
