Today we take a moment to say Thank You to all the men and women that have put on the uniform. These brave men and women have fought for and defended the freedoms that we enjoy each day and we are forever grateful. As you go about your day, please keep in mind what this day signifies. It’s about the sacrifices and commitment that others have made to protect our way of life. If you happen to see a veteran today, please extend a simple Thank You. It’s the least we can do for those that have given so much for us. #thankyou #veteransday #usarmy #usnavy #usmarines #usairforce #uscoastguard #usspaceforce
Today we pause to remember all those who lost their lives on one of the darkest days in our nation’s history. Nearly 3,000 people started their day 19 years ago just like any other day. When suddenly the landscape of American history was forever altered by terrorist attacks of unfathomable proportions. May these individuals forever be remembered and may we never forget. #neverforget #9/11
It is with deep regret, the chiefs office of the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps announces that George Worthington Jr Ex-Chief, ALS provider and Lifetime member of the Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance, has answered his last alarm. Ex-Chief Worthington and his wife Mary tragically passed away over the weekend in a motor vehicle accident. Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps has always worked hand in hand with Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance to provide care ...to the communities we are charged with protecting and Ex-Chief Worthington exemplified the skills and dedication of a pre-hospital care provider. The Chiefs, Officers and Members of the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the Worthington Family and the members of Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance. You all remain in our constant thoughts and prayers.
A high heat advisory has been issued for our area and is in effect until 8pm on Monday 7/20/20. Heat index values are expected up to 103 degrees. We would like to take this opportunity to remind the public about a few important facts. - Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.... - Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. - Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. - Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. - Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. - Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. - To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. - Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1

Recently the members of Riverhead Ambulance were presented with a donation from Apple Honda. Apple Honda chose to honor a local organization each month, beginning in June. The chosen organization will be presented with a donation based on the number of vehicles sold on a specific day. Apple Honda has done this in the past with North Fork Breast Health Coalition and had much success. They have now decided to expand there community involvement.... Riverhead Ambulance was chosen to kick off June 2020. We would like to thank the staff at Apple Honda for there efforts and thoughtful donation.
