Summer is almost here! If you need to schedule your child for a physical, please call the office ASAP to ensure the time slot you need is available. Summer hours will start Monday, June 28th 2021, the office will be open from 7:30am - 4:00pm. Please remember that we are still enforcing parents & children 2 yr old & up to wear masks as we have many immunocompromised little ones that are unable to receive a Covid-19 vaccine at this time. If your tween/teen is returning to sports and had a positive COVID within the last 12 months, it is required to have a clearance assessment to return to sports. If your child has already returned to sports and is experiencing any of the following symptoms: -Chest pain at rest or with exertion (not musculoskeletal) -Shortness of breath with minimal activity -Excessive fatigue with exertion -Abnormal heartbeat or palpitations... -Syncope or near-syncope (fainting/lightheadedness) Please have your child immediately stop participating in sports and call 315-598-6785 to make an appointment for further evaluation asap. A message from Dr. Brian: Hello everyone, I'm so sorry, and so heartbroken to write that I will be leaving Riverview Pediatrics in June 2021. My wife Caitlin, originally from Hawaii, has lived in Upstate NY for the past 8 years, and despite it being a wonderful place to live, with a strong, honest, and loving community, this isn't the home she is used to. She knows how much I love my partners, my practice, and especially how much I love YOU, my patients and families here in... Oswego County. She also has many patients of her own in the area whom she adores. However, the time has come for us to pursue new adventures and for her to have some time close to her family as well. If anything, COVID has shown us how short life can be, and it has become clear to us that it's time for a change. As a global-health trained pediatrician, Caitlin hopes to pursue this calling more as well, and I feel it is time to open that door wider for her. I'm so grateful for her time, dedication, and patience through all these years. More importantly, I'm grateful to all of you. Thank you so much for the opportunity, and the absolute privilege to be here and help take care of your children. I know I'm far from perfect, but I have always tried my best to love and take care of your children to the best of my ability, and as if they were my own. I've always tried my best to be kind and help your children feel comfortable, seen, and happy. I've really loved and cherished working with, and more importantly, getting to know and love you all. I have felt incredible joy, and have received so much more love in return than I ever could have asked for. This has been the greatest honor and blessing to be asked to help take care of your children, and to help be a part of this community. Despite my own heartbreak and sadness on leaving, I find so much comfort and solace that my partners and the practice remains. Dr's Sarah, Carla, and Christopher, along with our incredible staff, are so kind, caring, intelligent, and hard-working.
