PROJECT UPDATE: P.S. 730K has begun construction in #SunsetPark, #Brooklyn. The new, fully-accessible school was designed by RKTB to serve the fast-growing neighborhood with specialized classrooms for Music, Reading, Speech, Special Education, Science, and Art, in addition to administration facilities, a cafeteria, gymnasium, and classrooms for grades 3-5. The five-story building is oriented around a central playground that opens towards the neighborhood’s main street, 8th Avenue, creating a dialogue with the surrounding community. Public artwork commissioned for the school’s lobby will be visible from the playground and passerby on the street.
