First hummingbird at the kitchen feeder! I couldn't get a good picture, you can't see him against the background...but he's there.

Thank you, Michael Drahms, for permission to use this splendid picture. The tree in front is officially the tallest Redwood in New York State. The one behind it is our oldest metasequoia, which may be the oldest Dawn Redwood in the Western hemisphere.

It's officially Spring. The Robin Hill pink shads are in bloom. Magnolias are right behind, or a little ahead in some cases.

A gray, drizzly day, but the Robin Hill Shads are starting to bloom! They come out pink and turn white in a few days.

Four years ago when the old sugar maple on the south lawn came down, I didn't want to take out the stump. I loved that tree. So we planted a silver lace vine, and this year it really came into its own. A morning glory snuck in there too.

Thank you to everyone who came! We had a very good event for the Orleans Chamber, and the weather was perfect. We're talking about a possible fall event.

Some times my mind boggles. Yesterday (yesterday!), Gov. Cuomo issues a new rule that you can't get a wine tasting unless you buy food at the same time. Even at... an outdoor event. So the clever people at the Orleans Chamber are solving the problem: you can either get the regular $10 ticket that includes tastings and a tote and NOW enough food to meet the requirement, or you can purchase a box lunch provided by Sourced Market and Eatery along with your ticket. I recommend the lunch; Sourced is awesome. C'mon over, the weather is perfect, and we will have a good time, regulations and all!

This Thursday, the Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring another annual Wine Walk at Robin Hill! Ticket sales onsite only. The weather looks good...we hope you can come! I believe it starts at 5 pm. https://www.facebook.com/kathleen.blackburn.75/posts/10220575965686983
