RCD Family, I hope you are doing well. This is definitely not how I saw this season coming to an end. I miss all of you very much. I wanted to write to let you know that I have decided not to reopen the studio. This was a very difficult decision for myself and my family. The last 9 years with our RCD Family hold some of my very favorite memories. Thank you so much for the privilege of teaching your children, watching them grow, and developing special bonds that can never be ...replaced. I love all of you very much. Through teaching dance, I have been reminded, over and over, that my true love is education. I will be transitioning from studio ownership to pursuing training to become a Montessori Educator while continuing to teach dance. Local studio owner, and friend, Julie Jamieson, will be relocating her studio, Universal Movement & Dance, into our current space. She is a wonderful, loving mother and teacher with years of education experience and extensive knowledge of and experience in teaching dance. I have enclosed a letter from her below! :) At this time, I plan on continuing to teach a few classes a week at Universal Movement and Dance, and would highly recommend that you check out her programs and classes!! I will also be enrolling my own children in classes at Universal Movement and Dance. :) Julie's studio is very similar to the family friendly atmosphere and culture we have created at RCD. Her teaching philosophy is very much inline with that of the mission of RCD. This is heartbreaking, but just doesn't seem attainable given all that is happening. I have contacted the competitions and they will be refunding all of our fees. I will process your competition fee refunds, once those fees have been deposited into my account (aprox. 2 weeks). They will be refunded through your auto pay account/card. As I stated above, this was a very hard decision and while we are excited for the next chapter, we are very much grieving all that we have built and will be transitioning out of. We ask that if you know us personally, that you give us the space and time to work through this transition privately. I am so thankful for each and everyone of you, and cherish the moments we have had together. Your children (and YOU) hold a very big portion of my heart. I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I miss you all very much. Below are some updates & important information regarding costumes, competitions, and reopening. Costume Pick Up! We will be holding a Costume Pick Up Day at the Studio- Saturday, June 6th (specific times based on your last name detailed below). In order to keep within safety guidelines to ensure prevention spreading/contacting Covid-19, please see the details below.... Last Name Beginning with: A-M: 6/6 @ 9AM-10AM N-Z: 6/6 @ 10AM-11AM Wear a mask. Sanitize hands before & after receiving costume. PLEASE COME AT YOUR DESIGNATED TIME to reduce contact and ensure proper social distancing and safety Park on the church side. ONE PERSON PER FAMILY. All other members must wait in the car. Poly-spots will be placed on the ramp 6ft apart. If all poly spots are taken, please wait in your car until the next spot becomes available. When you come to the door, please remain on poly-spot. DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING. Someone will be at the door to take your name, and hand you your costume. We will sanitize before and after each person. Walk down the STEPS side of the ramp and around the pull through driveway back to your car. If you cannot attend on Saturday, June 6thplease contact [email protected] the Subject: ALTERNATIVE COSTUME PICK UP. If you respond to this email, or choses a different subject, I cannot guarantee a response or ensure a plan to get you your costume. Due to staff restrictions, all costumes will be handed out packaged as we received them from the costume companies. Tights are typically included for free in your costume package, due to shipping delays; we were not able to include the free tights this year. If you purchased shoes the last weeks before the studio closed, your money will be refunded, as we are also unable to fulfill the order. Pictures!!!! Take pictures in your costumes and post them to the studio page!! If you want professional photos, contact our studio Photographer, Siobhan Fisher, to book a session in her photography studio! http://www.siobhanfisher.com/about Photographers are phase 2 and are officially able to work!!! :) Call your favorite photographer and support their reopening! :) Share you photos so we can see you in your amazing costumes!!! :) Competitions: As of right now, both competitions are planning on rescheduling. Once those dates have been decided, we will discuss as a team whether we feel comfortable attending and proceed from there. Summer Classes: Information about re-opening coming soon! We are phase 4.
