Friends of Rochester is mourning the recent loss of two of our greats: FHR President and town matriarch Alice Schoonmaker, and lead genealogist and dear friend Richard Rider. With their passings, not only will we miss their warm and kind spirits, but we have also lost a trove of local historical knowledge that only these two possessed. It is from the bottom of our hearts that we say Thank You, Alice & Richard, for the years of dedication, service, and love that you put into both our town and Friends of Historic Rochester. ~ The Town hopes to organize a candlelight vigil in memoriam once COVID conditions allow for a safe gathering, possibly in the spring.
