PSA to Members and Students of Dojos I urge you to reach out to your Dojo owner and pledge your support to them instead of canceling or pausing your memberships. You would be surprised how many dojo owners operate 1-2 months away from being bankrupt and still have to pay thousands in rent and expenses. Further, most insurance policies will not be covering business interruption caused by the virus. Dojo owners are rarely wealthy and chose this business because of their pas...sion and love for martial arts and of helping others. If you want to have a dojo to go back to in the weeks or months to come, I strongly encourage you not to cancel your membership and leave your dojo to carry the weight alone. Chances are, the dojo owner is also struggling between doing what is safe for the community and keeping their dojo. Don’t leave them to be pressured into creating a public risk because they have no other choice but to shut down permanently. See more

Nice visit from Steven Sengdara with his Dad Southa. Steven was one of the first kids I taught back in the 90s. First time I have seen him in over 20 years when they moved from Rochester. So nice to see them.
