Though founded at Temple Beth David, the JSP has grown to be a community wide effort garnering support from local temples and religious schools. In the past two years, temples in AZ, MD, NC, TX and RI have joined the effort. In addition to sending hundreds of holiday packages each year for Purim, Pesach, Rosh Hashanah, and Hanukkah, the Jewish Soldiers Project sends Shabbat Box packages (challah, grape juice, babka etc.) on a weekly basis throughout the year. In 2017, the Jewish Soldiers Project sent more than 70 Passover packages to: Afghanistan, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and several ships at Sea. In addition, Jewish military communities from New York to California held Seders sponsored by the Jewish Soldiers Project. As Pesach approaches, the JSP has begun planning our 11th Soldier Passover Package Project and is looking to the Jewish community for support to make the project as successful as in past years.

Congregation Etz Chaim invites you to a Chanukah celebration! Friday, December 15th Potluck Dinner and Shabbat Service. RSVP by December 12th. Please join Etz Chaim as they commemorate this Festival of Lights on Friday, December 15th with a potluck dinner and Shabbat service. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. You are welcome to bring and use your own menorah as they light the traditional holiday candles together. There is no charge for this event but they encourage everyone to bring a dish to pass. This will be a meat meal no dairy products, please. Etz Chaim is located at 2 Mountain Rise in Fairport.
