Rock and Wrap It Up! volunteers in the Judge's Chambers at Yankee Stadium! During the pandemic, Rock and Wrap It Up! picked up over 40,000 pounds of food not used by Yankee Stadium in 2020. We also set up the Veteran Farmers Market, allowing senior at-risk veterans to shop safely without going to stores and risk Covid exposure . Nation-wide, during the Covid pandemic, we fed over 1,million people with short-dated food recovery.

The next federal relief package includes $13 Billion for SNAP benefits (formerly called food stamps) and other food aid. My friend CEO Joel Berg of Hunger Free America said in a statement about the much-needed recovery bill, with malnourished people in this country more likely to contract and suffer fatal symptoms from COVID-19, this bill is literally life-saving. However, we all know that food insecurity was a problem in the United States long before the pandemic, and it ...will be a problem after. President-elect Joe Biden needs to prioritize expanding food aid and tackling the problems that cause food insecurity in the first place. That includes creating jobs like President Trump has done, expanding wages, and fighting for more affordable housing and healthcare.
