The #RocklandBOCES Family Resource Center Foundation this week received a $40,000 grant from No Kid Hungry to support our growing BackPack Program. #NoKidHungry is part of a national effort that supports programs that connect children and their families to meals and resources necessary to ease hunger. Grant dollars will support the BackPack Program’s expanded efforts of distributing weekly backpacks full of healthy food to 180 families with children who attend Rockland BOCES programs. Our #RocklandBOCES Animal Science students this week are focusing on small animal anatomy, physiology, care and management. Animal Science is a two-year program that prepares students who are interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, animal science, wildlife biology or zoology. In almost every criminal investigation, it is necessary to determine and prove that a particular person may or may not have been present at the scene of a crime. For this reason, the collection, preservation and analysis of physical evidence are key skills for law enforcement professionals. Students in our Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) Criminal Justice program are learning to cast footprints and collect DNA - important crime scene investigative tools.
