June is Adopt a Cat Month! Adopting a cat or kitten from a shelter opens up a new space for another homeless feline. Shelters have a surplus of kittens this time of year and most will provide the beginnings of veterinary care such as first vaccinations and deworming. Older cats are also a great choice because their personality is already formed when you meet them, they are litterbox trained, and also would have been provided with vet care and spaying/neutering.
