From a friend of Round Top Retreat: Here it is folks, my annual reminder that hunting season begins THIS THURSDAY,October 1st with the opening of bow season. WEAR ORANGE, HAVE YOUR DOG WEAR ORANGE, DO NOT LET YOUR DOG LOOSE to RUN DEER To EXHAUSTION (it’s illegal). Plan ahead for your hikes you may be surprised which state and public lands are open for hunting. For all the rules and regulations that law abiding hunters are required to follow the public at large should know there is a right to hunt law in New York State. If you harass or otherwise hinder a hunter who is legally hunting you are breaking the law. Stay safe Stay healthy!

This "really" doesn't happen often, but we received another cancellation, so if you want to plan an October visit to Round Top Retreat, October 9-12 (holiday mondy) is the only open weekend. Feel free to email me at [email protected] or book directly through Airbnb or Hipcamp.com.
