What a year it has been! It’s crazy to think Royal Jiu Jitsu went from a vision, to an empty concrete space, to what it is today. We couldn’t have made this dream of ours possible without our instructors, family, and students who have supported us from the very beginning and continue to do so. We are so proud of what Royal has become and look forward to what this next year will bring!

We are happy yet sad to conclude our first 8 weeks Introduction to Jiu Jitsu course at Royal in partnership with the Police Activity League @nassaucountypd. A special thank you to the director of PAL officer Jethro Cardona- it was an absolute pleasure working with you and now having you as a student! The classes were fun & successful. We’re very honored to be able to show children in our community the Gentle Art of Jiu Jitsu and build their confidence through self defense.

The triangle is the strongest shape- capable of holding its shape, having a strong base, and providing immense support. Without one side, it would collapse. Royal would be nothing without each one of these instructors. We are blessed to have such an amazing staff that we call family.

Today is a very difficult day for our country. 19 years ago thousands lost their lives and heroes, both badged and not, ran into the chaos not knowing if it would be their final moments. Today we remember and honor the men and women who didn’t think twice as they rushed into the smoke and debris to save the lives of others; many sacrificing their own lives in their acts of heroism. God bless all of the families who lost a hero from the horrible day of 9/11/2001. Our prayers are with you. Let us celebrate those who are still with us as we celebrate and remember those who never made it out.

It's time for The Entrepreneurial Web! Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion, Matheus Lutes, just earned his black belt from Marcelo Garcia in December of 2019. Wi...th a number of titles under his belt, and a new family, Matheus made the move to open his own academy in Long Island. Then one of the toughest opponents of his career surfaced.....COVID-19. In what may be the longest match of his life, Matheus managed to get wrangle open the doors of Royal Jiu Jitsu Academy in Mineola, NY - just as the state began to once again allow the operation of such institutions - albeit modified.
