There has been a lot of talk about reimagining policing, and we truly believe it all starts with engaging this new generation of aspiring police officers. Our... teams top priory is attracting and developing the type of people who will think diversely, put service above self and understand that they are on the road to being guardians of the community with the goal of becoming partners with the public. For the past 6 months, members of our team have volunteered their time delivering meals to seniors, who could not travel about because of Covid-19. I am very proud of every single member of our group who has given up hundreds of hours of their personal time to make sure no seniors go without a meal. This week, these two young men got mic’d up and represented our team with professionalism and integrity. The UofR is conducting research studies as part of the Healthy Aging Research Program (HARP). Current HARP studies focus on caring for a loved one with dementia.... We have several studies enrolling participants right now and all study activities are done remotely, via phone or Zoom. The first step is to complete a brief phone call (20 mins) in which you would be asked a few questions to see if HARP is right for you. We have two studies that you may be eligible for, including a phone interview where you share your experiences with staying socially connected and another that involves what we call Engage Coaching, which involves phone counseling to reduce stress and loneliness.
