I delivered a paper at the International Business and Economics Research Conference and my paper, "Workplace Motivation: Some New Approaches" won the Best Paper award which is cool becuase a couple of years ago Liesl and I won the same award. I am now working on an article in this area and have developed an outline for a book on the same topic. Keeps me off the streets.

We just saw my daughter Liesl and her husband Omar off to South Africa where she, as a Fulbright/Fogarty Scholar, will be involved with AIDS research for the next 9 months. I just finished the preliminaries, as well as a paper for presentation, on my next book: tentatively titled: "Motivation: Incentive or Excuse?" Will keep you posted.

What do people see as the main challenges for the upcoming year? Is it time to start thinking about confronting some of these issues? What are some good approaches to dealing with new problems--or old ones for that matter?
