I’m sure that you are missing your fellow league and organization administrators, coaches, parent volunteers and players as much as we miss seeing all of you at Bills Stadium and at our events. We are thinking of all of you and hope that everyone is healthy and staying active. With our 2020 Buffalo Bills Rookie Players, we created a virtual youth football clinic that I wanted to share with you. We regret to inform you we will not have a fall football/cheer season. Our league voted last night to cancel fall football as we felt there was no way to implement enough safety measures. However, we are exploring some other options to offer over the winter. ... Football: The Jr. Comets are heading up an exploratory committee within AYFCL to play some kind of flag 7v7 over the winter. We are also enclosing a town flyer. Cheer- Please reach out to me. We are also exploring some options for cheer. There are some discussions going on about putting together a Rec team for winter. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in so we would be able to get a count of interested cheerleaders. The Jr. Comets is deeply saddened by this as we know the impact this will have on your kids. However, we are still a resource for you. Hello Families!! We miss you so much and are very sad that we haven't see your smiling faces. This is the current update we have. The Comets are part of the AYFCL. So what this statement means is: We follow section V. We will be taking their lead on start dates for the season. Stay Healthy and we miss you! The AYFCL’s top priority is to maintain a safe and secure environment for our participants, coaches, spectators, officials and staff. ... The AYFCL will follow guidelines set by the state and by Section V for practice, games and cheer competitions. This means that dates are subject to last minute changes. The AYFCL has currently set August 24 for a start date of the 2020 season.
