As the counting of ballots draws to an end, it appears, unfortunately, that we have fallen short. The results show that this was not a referendum on me or my op...ponent, but rather a vote against President Trump that has been seen both locally and nationally. My best wishes to Judy Griffin in her upcoming term in the State Assembly. I’m proud of the strong, truthful campaign we ran. We spoke about the concerns and issues affecting Long Islanders including community safety and taxes. I hope, even though we were not successful, that our voices have been heard clearly. I will continue fighting for legislative action to make our communities safer and I will work to restore financial responsibility in New York State's government. I’m awestruck and humbled by the number of people who voted for me, many of whom I never met. Thank you for placing your confidence in me to represent you. That means the world to me. There are countless people who helped me along the way. From the volunteers, campaign workers, committee men and women, and all of my social media followers and of course my family and friends. Thank you everyone for your help and support along the way. I could not have done any of this without you. I especially want to thank my husband Kevin for his never ending love and support and his determination to cover the district with my signs. And to my 4 amazing children, thank you for being proud of me and supporting my desire to make our part of the world a little better.
