Another one of our partners is the jewelry designer company known as Sweet Charleston Designs! Most noted for their "Lowcountry" look, and their Sewee Bay collection, which resembles the ancient global art of woven basketry, RW Manufacturing is proud to have partnered with them to produce such pieces, made in stunning silver and 18 karat gold. When it comes to finding and mining gold, there’s no easy way to do it. There’s no shortcut, and backbreaking work is always involved. That said, gold mining doesn't always involve large mining operations with huge vehicles and expensive equipment. Sometimes gold mining can be accomplished with just a very cheap gold pan and sluice! We are of course referring to finding gold in ancient riverbeds and similar geographic locations. While it’s still a lot of physical labor to get gold from these sources, it’s still an accessible way to mine for gold for those with the determination and resolve to do the work! (One word of note: gold isn't found in just any old riverbed; your best bet by far is to look in riverbeds where gold has already been found, such as some places in Alaska for example.)

Did You Know: Gold comes in many colors, and these colors are obtained by mixing gold with other elements? For example, there is such a thing as purple gold - it comes from an alloy of gold and aluminum! Other colors of gold include green, rose/red, white, and even blue! This handy chart from Wikipedia demonstrates how some of the colors of gold are made: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/File:Ag-Au-Cu-colours-english.svg
