#meetthemakersyr Meet @ryanwood13 man behind the Salt City shirts and a slew of local landmark, retro video game & graphical designs! 1. What made you take th...e plunge into making? I've always been creating as long as I can remember. Painting watercolors with my grandfather, drawing cars and model building were some of my early favorites. About 5 years ago, I felt the pull to get back to working with more traditional mediums after years of digital work and began acrylic painting and woodworking. Today I am mostly back to digital as I can create things more quickly but I enjoy both equally. I know I'll always have the desire to keep learning so I'm looking forward to future endeavors! 2.What/who inspires you to create? My family and the world around me. I draw a lot of inspiration from history and nostalgia as well. Personally inspired by the work of Alex Ross, the Hudson River School painters, Janelle Monae and all the creatives I've met in CNY through PATF, InfinitePop and Wildflowers. 3. What’s your studio like? A mess, lol. I know a lot of us say that but I recently moved to a live/work studio apartment at the Gear Factory and I am far from having it organized. Don't expect photos anytime soon but I'll open it up to visitors in due time! 4. Music? If so who? Extensive taste is usually my answer. I'll listen to anything from classical, jazz, hip-hop, rock, and blues - depending on my mood. A few favorites: Janelle Monae, Jimi Hendrix, Holst, Paganini, Childish Gambino, Jeff Beck, Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, the Beatles, A Tribe Called Quest, Dave Matthews, Twenty One Pilots, Root Shock and many more! @ryanwoodstudios
