Good news for local distilleries! There was a lot of confusion because no one was anticipating this so the entire industry mobilized and started to call their members of Congress really freaking out, said (President and CEO of the Distilled Spirits Council Chris) Swonger. Swonger says the news got to officials in the Department of Health and Human Services, who say the action was not cleared by their office. After department leaders discussed it, they deemed the FDA doesn’t have the authority to issue such a rule, meaning these surprise fees won’t need to be paid."

"Whoo's" ready?

If you spot a group of soldiers marching through Sackets Harbor towards the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site today (November 5) - don't worry, it's not the British! Soldiers from Fort Drum's 3-10 General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB), 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, will be conducting a staff ride from Westcott Beach State Park to the battlefield. Staff rides, historical studies of military campaigns, are an educational tool used by the Army to illustrate how... military history can help leaders shape future decisions. Please exercise caution while these solders are marching on the state highways and local roads.
