San Martin, Spain The Alvarez Family had its roots in the village of San Martin, Spain. Many stories exist of a young Jesu Alvarez skipping school and spending his time in the village cemetery and church. His time in the cemetery was spent praying and doing penance. Now that I see how beautiful and picturesque the countryside of San Martin is, I know it was a place to see the beauty of God’s creation as well. The gospels relate how Jesus Christ would remove himself to the cou...ntryside to pray and San Martin would provided a young Jesu Alvarez with the same beauty and solitude.
